Location

The primary attraction for holidaying in Negril is the stunning Seven Mile Beach along which much of the activity is centered. Larger hotels line the coastal road with some more intimate properties around the area called the Rock, originally settled by American hippies 50 years ago. On the assumption that shopping is not on the agenda, there are a couple of shopping parades in the area, there is a wealth of sightseeing opportunities. Explore the quieter beaches and coves beyond the lighthouse which stands 30m above the shore. Take a tour of the Belvedere Plantation House, visit the craft market and take a trip on the stunningly beautiful Black River. The small fishing villages to the east offer many photographic opportunities and try the latest catch landed from the brightly coloured boats.
