Adult Only Hotels in the Bahamas

The archipelago of The Bahamas comprises 700 islands and 2000 cays, and covers an area of 150,000 square miles. Set in the Atlantic Ocean, east of Florida and Cuba, holidays in The Bahamas are particularly popular with American tourists. The Bahamas is a year-round destination, but the peak season runs from December to April. Nassau, the country's capital, is a busy town on the New Providence Island, where visits will find a good selection of shops, bars, casinos, hotels and nightclubs.

Overview:

Holidays in The Bahamas are particularly popular with keen gamblers, who tend to head for the glitzy casinos of Freeport and Lucaya on Grand Bahama Island. A popular place for scuba divers is Bimini Road, near North Bimini Island, which is named after the curious underwater structure resembling that of a huge underwater road. Another popular diving spot is Andros Island, with its 140-mile-long coral reef.

Holidays in The Bahamas offer a range of attractions. Long Island is considered one of the most beautiful islands in the Bahamas and remains largely untouched by tourism. Its picture-perfect setting comprises endless swathes of fine white sand lapped by turquoise waters. Just 40 miles off the coast of Miami lies Bimini, popular for its big-game fishing and Spring break parties. Crooked Island, thought to be the landing place of Christopher Columbus, has a beautifully jagged shoreline and is home to a wide selection of birds, including hummingbirds, canaries and herons to name but a few. The Inagua National Park boasts the spectacular Lake Rosa - the nesting ground for thousands of flamingos.
